A lot of you have asked me what series I’m going to do, if any, after reading and writing the #DoNoFear series the past year and one month.
This year I look forward to coaching you on how to self-publish your book.
Frankly, I am relieved to make the shift from publicly posting my quiet times with the Lord on fear to focus on growing my business. I acknowledge that it was I who choose to share these posts with you. I could have read all 395 verses in private. I could have journaled all of them in hopes of writing a book someday. In fact, that is how my first book, “Faithbook of Jesus” came to be.
I’m so glad I didn’t because I have no fear of being transparent. God has allowed my trials and sufferings to give me divine boldness and courage to show you how to live for God in every season.
It takes a lot of hard work, worship, and prayer to get to the root of our fears so we can cultivate a life of our dreams (and this includes writing a book).
I recently met with a local aspiring author, and she told me that she started writing her book 10 years ago—but due to fear she got stuck and stopped writing. Writing about her past brought up many painful memories. Memories she thought she had healed from.
Often is the case when you’re writing non-fiction.
A memory or event from your past is triggered when you begin to see it with new light. Maybe there is some piece of truth that you can learn from, but often it is just fear to bully you into shutting down. Again.
If you have learned ANYTHING from reading my #donotfear posts is that you do NOT have to fear. That’s right. The word “fear” is found 550 times in the Bible. God is pretty serious about saying “Do not fear” almost EVERY time He shows up to bring good news to His favorite people. That includes you and me.
So how do we start?
How do we share our stories amidst great tragedy?
Instead of posting daily or even weekly, I will be writing 12 monthly blog posts on How to Self-Publish Your Book (in a Year or Less). To ensure a timely delivery—I have provided a timeline so you can begin to plan how your book will come to life.
